Introduction

More than a month has passed since Mantle Network Mainnet went live — if you’ve been keeping up with us, we announced the launch of mainnet at EthCC on July 17, 2023, while meeting some of the best blockchain contributors and community members across multiple events throughout the week. From Stable Summit to a co-hosted Sozu Haus Paris, our very own launch event and more, the Mantle team sprinted into L2 summer fueled by our highly-anticipated launch.

Hence, this seems like a perfect time to share this guide, which would be a "one-stop know-it-all" and a perfect place to get onboard to Mantle Mainnet.

Becoming a part of Mantle Network

For new Mantle users, this guide will explain how to:

Connect Your Wallet

You can automatically add Mantle Network to your wallet with one click using Chainlist by navigating to the Add Mainnet page on Chainlist.

Simply connect your wallet to the web page, click on the "Add to MetaMask" button that shows up, and approve the action in your wallet.

Add network manually

1. Launch MetaMask and login to your wallet.
2. The default network setting for the wallet is generally "Ethereum Mainnet". Click on the button in the top-left to bring up a dropdown menu. Click on "Add network" at the bottom of the dropdown menu.

3. This will take you the "Add a network" page where you'll see multiple popular networks. Click on "Add a network manually" to bring up a form.

4. Fill in the following info and click "Save" to finish. The network option will appear in the network setting dropdown menu once you're done.

Network name - Mantle Network New RPC URL - https://rpc.mantle.xyz Chain ID - 5000 **Currency symbol ** - MNT Block explorer URL - https://explorer.mantle.xyz

Getting MNT to Interact With the Network

$MNT is the official token for Mantle Network. Here's a few exchanges where you can acquire $MNT to start interacting with Mantle Mainnet.

How to get $MNT Using Bybit

1. Head over to Bybit.com and login.
2. Click on Buy Crypto tab and select One-Click Buy.

3. In the Buy tab, select USD in spend, and select MNT in receive.

Additional

It is important to note that not all native currency would support MNT. In such situations, you will have to require either USDT, USDC or BTC first and then swap it for MNT. Let's see how that is done.

1. Selecting INR as an example. Users will have to acquire USDT, USDC or BTC first.

2. Once you've acquired some USDT, USDC or BTC. Head over to Trade and select Convert

3. Select either of the acquired USDT, USDC or BTC in the "From" space and MNT in the "to" space. Once done — click on convert.

Note: Please make sure that you choose the correct wallet. Your funds can be in either Funding or Spot.

4. And you're done! Remember to withdraw the MNT from Bybit and send it to the Metamask wallet that you've created! This can be easily done via withdrawing option under the "Assets" tab.

Adding Mantle Network token — $MNT on Ethereum Mainnet

This is an important step to make sure you have $MNT accessible in your wallet for bridging onto Mantle Mainnet. Just FYI, here's the link to the official $MNT contract on Ethereum Mainnet (https://etherscan.io/token/0x3c3a81e81dc49a522a592e7622a7e711c06bf354)

1. Open MetaMask and click on + Import tokens

2. Click on Custom Token and Paste "0x3c3a81e81dc49A522A592e7622A7E711c06bf354" in the Token contract Address space. Wait for a few seconds and the other spaces for Token Symbol and Token Decimal should populate on its own. If not, please put MNT and 18 manually.

3. Once done, click on the Add custom token button.

4. Congrats, your $MNT has now been added successfully to Metmask

Guide for Mantle Mainnet Bridge

The official Mantle Bridge on Mainnet operates by connecting to Ethereum Mainnet.

Deposit $MNT

Follow the steps below to deposit your tokens from Ethereum Mainnet to Mantle Testnet:

1. Navigate to the Mantle Bridge on Mainnet and connect your wallet by clicking on the Connect Wallet button.

2. Once the wallet is connected, enter the amount of $MNT token you would like to migrate from Ethereum Mainnet to Mantle Mainnet and click on Deposit Tokens to L2.

3. A MetaMask pop-up should appear on the screen to add a Custom spending cap. Note: Make sure the amount is equal to or greater than the amount you're depositing. (3 in our case).

Once done, click on Approve.

4. Once approval is successful, you'll see the "Deposit Tokens to L2" button. Click on it to proceed to confirmation.

5. Here you'll be able to see the deposit amount and approximate time it'll take to complete the deposit operation. Finally, click on the "Confirm" button to send a deposit transaction. You'll need to confirm the transaction in your wallet too.

6. Feel free to check the transaction status by clicking on the "Ethereum Mainnet Explorer" button. Once complete, the balance will be reflected in your L2 Mainnet wallet.

7. Once the deposit is complete, the screen will look something like ⬇️

*If you successfully bridge $MNT onto Mantle Mainnet, you will also receive a MNT bonus! **

Withdrawing from Mantle Mainnet

Follow the steps below to deposit your tokens from Mantle Mainnet to Ethereum Mainnet:

1. Navigate to the Mantle Bridge on Mainnet and connect your wallet by clicking on the Connect Wallet button.
2. Select the "Withdraw" tab and enter the amount of $MNT you want to bridge over to Ethereum Mainnet, and then click on the "Withdraw Tokens from L2" button at the bottom.

3. You'll be able to see the withdraw amount and an approximation for the amount of time it will take for the token transfer. Note that once complete, the amount still needs to be claimed on L1 for it to land in your wallet. Check the checkboxes, and click on the "Confirm" button to send a withdraw transaction.

4. Confirm the operation in your wallet. Feel free to check out the transaction status on Explorer by clicking on the Mantle Mainnet Explorer button.

5. You'll be able to claim the $MNT tokens on Ethereum Mainnet once available by sending a transaction from your wallet. Click on your wallet address in the top-right to see all your withdrawals and deposits.

6. After 1 week, check the status using the steps mentioned above and click on the "Claim" button and confirm the transaction in your wallet. The $MNT will show up in your Ethereum Mainnet wallet once the transaction is successfully sent.
