Previously, only $MNT tokens held in your Ethereum L1 and Mantle L2 wallets were eligible for governance voting on Snapshot.

Now, $MNT tokens locked on Mantle Rewards Station are automatically eligible for voting. This means greater participation, more inclusive decision-making, and a stronger, community-driven network.

• Seamless Participation: If you have $MNT locked on Mantle Rewards Station, you can now vote directly on Snapshot without needing to delegate.
• Empowered Community: A broader base of voters leads to decisions that better reflect the collective vision of our community.

How to Vote With Your Locked $MNT

Participating in governance with your locked $MNT is straightforward:

2. Cast Your Vote

When a governance proposal is active:

• Visit Snapshot: Go to the Mantle Governance Voting Portal.
• Connect Your Wallet: Use the wallet associated with your $MNT locked on Mantle Rewards Station.
• Review Proposals: Read the details of active proposals.
• Vote Directly: Cast your vote — no delegation required for your locked $MNT.

Maximizing Your Voting Power

If you want to increase your voting power by including your Mantle L2 wallet balance and Ethereum L1 wallet balance, you need to delegate these tokens. Here's how:

Delegation Process

1. Visit the Delegation App

• Go to the Mantle Delegation App.

2. Delegate Your Wallet Balances

• L1 $MNT Tokens:
  • Delegate to Self: Select your Ethereum L1 wallet balance and delegate it to yourself to activate its voting power.
• L2 $MNT Tokens:
  • Delegate to Self: Select your Mantle L2 wallet balance (excluding Mantle Rewards Station $MNT) and delegate it to yourself.

3. Optional Delegation to Others

• If you prefer, you can delegate your wallet balances to another trusted address to vote on your behalf.

Notes:

• Delegation is optional and only necessary if you wish to include your wallet balances in your voting power.
• $MNT locked on Mantle Rewards Station does not require delegation.
• Voting power is determined at the time a proposal is created. Ensure your delegation settings are updated before then.

• Delegated $MNT Wallet Balances:
  • L1 $MNT Tokens: Included only if you delegate them to yourself or someone else.
  • L2 $MNT Tokens: Included only if you delegate them to yourself or someone else.
• $MNT Delegated to You by Others: Always included in your voting power.

How Can I Check My Voting Power?

Users can visit the Delegation App to view their voting power.

• Total Voting Power = L2 $MNT + L1 $MNT

Your Voting Power on L1 and L2:

• L2 $MNT Voting Power:
  • If L2 $MNT is Delegated:
    • Self-delegated L2 $MNT (excluding Mantle Rewards Station $MNT)
    • Plus L2 $MNT delegated to you by others
  • If L2 $MNT is Not Delegated:
    • $MNT staked in Rewards Station (automatically counted)
