EigenLayer recently announced that transfer restrictions for $EIGEN will be removed on Sept. 30, 2024, allowing Mantle users to soon redeem their EigenLayer points for $EIGEN tokens. This marks an important milestone for users who have been contributing to both the Mantle and EigenLayer ecosystems, and we are preparing to make claims available to all our users shortly. As part of this process, Safe wallet users are required to authorize an EOA address so that they will be able to claim their $EIGEN rewards on Ethereum L1.

Rationale

Rewards distribution for our campaign collaborations may not always be on Mantle L2. For example, claims for $EIGEN are only available on Ethereum L1, but $EIGEN is awarded for $mETH holdings and Pendle $USDe pool holdings on Mantle L2.

While individual wallet addresses are usually interoperable across multiple EVM-compatible chains (e.g., Ethereum, Mantle), users using Safe Multisig wallets on Mantle may not have access to the Ethereum address where rewards are distributed due to their wallet structure. As such, they may face issues claiming their rewards.

Solution

To address this, we have integrated an update where users can authorize an EOA address to claim rewards on behalf of the connected Mantle address.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Visit the mETH Protocol EigenLayer Campaign page here, and connect your Safe Multisig wallet.

• Upon connecting your wallet, you will see a pop-up box titled ''Prepare for your $EIGEN claim''.
• You will be prompted to switch to Mantle Network.
• This step will be to verify if you are eligible for any $EIGEN tokens.

Step 2: Upon verification, simply input your choice of EOA address in the box on the top right.

Step 3: Users who successfully input an EOA address of choice will be able to view their details in the same box.

• Please note that the EOA address provided will be the authorized address to claim and receive $EIGEN tokens. Double-check and confirm to avoid any mistakes, as reward distribution will be irreversible upon disbursement.

As we get ready to roll out the claiming process to all users sometime next week, we want to ensure that Safe Multisig wallet users can claim their $EIGEN rewards efficiently. Please note that the claims timeline is also subject to when EigenLayer enables token transferability for $EIGEN, which is currently scheduled for Sept. 30, 2024.
