Calling out to all artists passionate about crypto, web3 and Mantle — you're invited to the Mantle Swag Design Challenge, where the top three winners will get a chance to win a prize of 1,000 USDC each, plus have their designs featured on our upcoming limited edition event swag.

Mantle has shown up at a majority of global crypto and blockchain events to meet our community and ecosystem in person, and along the way, we've made and given out some sweet swag. From our bicycle pepe tote bags, Bellroy backpacks and fanny packs to Citizens of Mantle stickers and some of the softest Mantle team shirts we've ever made, we've seen immense support pouring out from the community at every event.

And that's why we're bringing out all the stops to ace our next event fit check with the help of artists from the wider community. More details below 👇

The Challenge

Submit your best original design that you think best represents Mantle. If you win, you'll get a chance to see this design printed across Mantle event shirts, socks, bags and more. You name it!

Submissions should adhere to the below requirements:

Themes

Your design should follow one of these three (3) outlined themes:

• DeFi Paradise: Mantle's DeFi sector is one of its strongest-performing ones with core assets, primitive applications and more, and continues to grow in our approach to enhancing yield, user experience and innovation. As the name suggests, Mantle is set to become a DeFi Paradise and home to some of the market's best DeFi creations.
• mETH: mETH is the value-accumulating receipt token of Mantle's liquid staking protocol, Mantle LSP. More details about mETH can be found here: https://www.mantle.xyz/meth
• Mantle Ecosystem: Mantle Ecosystem is expanding day by day with the addition of new Showcase Apps and amazing project dApps across pillars such as DeFi, infrastructure and tooling, NFTs and more. A more detailed look at our ecosystem can be found here: https://www.mantle.xyz/dapp

Design Specifications

• Size: All artwork designed must be within 30cm by 40cm (11.80 inch by 15.74 inch); designs do not need to fully fill up the printable area, but cannot go beyond the printable area as specified
• Quality: Ensure that all artwork submitted is minimally 3000px by 3000px
• Design Area: The design will be printed on the back of a black t-shirt; printable area is as outlined

• Format: You will need to submit both an .ai file and also a JPG/JPEG/PNG of your final design
• Colours: Your design should have no more than nine (9) colors (CMYK only). It is required to use a minimum of two (2) Mantle brand colors in your design.

Terms & Conditions

1. Only original designs that fit the above themes and printable area size, strictly without infringing on the rights of other existing artworks, will be accepted; AI-generated designs will not be eligible.
2. Designs should only feature Mantle and mETH logos, if applicable. No other logos should be incorporated or featured in your design. Logos, if used in your design, will need to follow Mantle's brand book in terms of use and placement.
3. Any genre of art would be accepted with the exclusion of AI-generated submissions and photography/videography/audio. Mantle reserves the sole and final right to consider what is acceptable and eligible for use on Mantle swag.
4. No memes allowed, and any artwork deemed malicious or hurtful to specific demographics will be automatically disqualified.
5. A submission will be disqualified from the competition if it is received after the announced closing date, or if it does not adhere to the terms and conditions outlined.
6. Design proposals may only be submitted in electronic format by uploading via designated website. Design proposals submitted in any other formats will not be accepted.
7. By participating in this challenge, winning artists acknowledge and accept that they will retain ownership of their submitted artwork, but Mantle is awarded the right to use it for upcoming t-shirt and/or swag designs until the end of 2025. Similar art cannot be used by/submitted to other platforms/competitions before Jan. 1, 2026.
8. For submitted artworks that are not selected for a win, artists can rest assured that Mantle will not be using the designs for any purpose at all; artists will retain full ownership of their work.

• Step 3: Upload your final design artwork as a JPEG/JPG/PNG AND the .ai file as well
• Step 4: Fill up your personal details and give us a brief description of your work
• Step 5: Make a submission and watch your work appear in the main gallery!

Judging Process & Voting

After the closing of submissions, all submitted artwork will go through a closed voting process, of which judges comprise representatives from the Mantle team, along with several independent artist communities — our Artist Advocates.

We're privileged to invite some of the art scene's most vibrant communities to be a part of the judging process. These Artist Advocates include UnHRD, Richard, Omakase and TC, with more to be added closer to the end of the challenge.

Our judging criteria are as follows:

• Originality & Creativity: How unique or innovative is the submitted artwork?
• Theme: How well does the design reflect the three outlined themes? How relevant is the design to Mantle?
• Design Quality: How visually appealing is the overall design, taking into consideration any colours, typography, graphics and other elements used?

The artwork with the top three (3) highest number of votes will win the challenge.

Once the top three (3) artworks have been selected, we will make an announcement on Mantle's social channels on June 14, 2024. USDC prizes will be distributed within 14 working days after the announcement, and winning artists will be notified when Mantle swag has been created with their submitted work.
